Class Rings: The tradition that is back in fashion

Course Rings: tradition is in fashion!

Have you ever heard of graduation rings? Traditionally given to those finishing their academic careers, these jewels have been gaining increasing prominence in the fashion world as a must-have accessory for every day.

Inspired by the Catholic Church, which used Episcopal Rings to distinguish its Cardinals, Bishops, and Popes, and by the ancient decorations of European royalty, graduation rings emerged to distinguish and honor those about to conclude their academic careers. The tradition arrived in Portugal in the mid-1950s, and since then, the number of enthusiasts for this type of jewelry has grown from north to south of the country.

Traditionally, graduation rings are made of 19.2k gold, but today they are available in a variety of designs and materials, including 9k gold or silver. Traditionally, the colors of the gemstones are associated with the student's academic program, but new colors are increasingly emerging, driven by the growing demand for these types of items for everyday use.

According to tradition, these are usually offered by parents or close relatives and continue to be, today, a symbol of persistence and success.
